FIFA corrects translation error in notice regarding tickets to Brazil matches

fifaSem títuloThis Wednesday, FIFA was forced to implement a correction due to an error in a translation from English to Portuguese. The whole issue involved tickets to watch Brazil in action at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. A notice published by soccer’s highest body stated that tickets to the opening match in Brasília were “temporarily sold out”.

In actual fact, the next lot of tickets for the Brazilian National Team’s games only goes on sale on December 8, when details will already have been announced concerning the composition of the eight World Cup groups. The lot of tickets set for sale on November 11 does not include admission to the opening match or other Brazil games in the group phase, nor to the final in Maracanã Stadium, in Rio de Janeiro, or any quarter or semifinals contests.

FIFA stated, however, that the information published in other languages (English, French, Spanish, German and Arabic) was correct.
