Traduzca translates an English version of the Porto Alegre, Quem Diria application

poaquemdiria_02Journalist Cláudia Aragón’sPorto Alegre, Quem Diria” project comes to life in the world of cell phone applications this Monday, October 21. In addition to presenting the new pocket book edition for distribution at hotels, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs, featuring tips on unconventional products and services in the city, the mobile app will also make an entrance. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the DMAE Art Gallery, in the Moinhos de Vento neighborhood.

This will be the first bilingual application for smartphones and tablets containing 90 tips and interesting facts about Porto Alegre. Traduzca was responsible for translating the app into English, which includes suggestions for getting the most out of the city other than those found in traditional tourist guides.  The “Porto Alegre, Quem Diria” project may even surprise residents of the capital who, for example, might not know the location of the cafe that welcomes customers with a shower of rose petals, where the Hawaiian canoe trip on the Guaíba River leaves from, or where you can find an antiques store specializing in items from the 1950s and 1960s.

The “Porto Alegre, Quem Diria” app will be available for iOS and Android and includes stories, pictures and audio by Cláudia Aragón herself.
